Use a foam paint brush. A regular bristle brush tends to pull the paint off.

There is an item called a paint mitt. You just wear it ( I prefer a rubber glove as well, though it is lined in plastic) Under $5.00 at Ace. Not too hard to wash out in a bucket, but for the price you could buy a new one.

Thanks Susan! I am going to have to just give it another go! It's been sitting on my table 1/2 done because I am not happy with it! Thanks for the info! :)

You can use spray paint with a primer in it - covers best for little detailed areas.

Thank you Cindy! I will have to keep that in mind for my next project - I love the color I have on it and not sure I could match it. I wonder if the spray paint would cover the paint on it now if it really doesn't work out - stripping chair legs will be even worse than painting them I am sure! ;)
