Try rubbing coconut oil mayo, regular oil on to the furniture leave on long enough to penetrate and wipe off with a soft clean cloth.
Boiled linseed oil, minerel oil, or tung oil will work. Wear gloves, pour some on the wood, spread it around with a clean cloth, let it soak in, wipe off the excess. Do not use any type of vegetable oil as it does go rancid.
I redo old furniture..I have found hemp oil to do a great job, as does coconut oil..but my favorite is lemon oil. As someone else has said..do not use regular veggie oil..it does go bad.
I had a 1880s chifferobe that had been badly abused..it was very dry and water damaged...I rubbed lemon oil into it several times after sanding it and I loved it.
Use bees wax on any wood gliders , drawers will open and close nicely.
Thank you will give it a try
