Need ideas for hinges for my cabinet please!

Has anybody ever converted a corner base cabinet from a lazy susan to an easy reach type? If so, did you use any special type of hinge for the inside corner of the door so that it can fold as you open it? I'm debating upon what style of hinge to use as I've just finished by first base cabinet and need to install the door.

Thank you hometalkers!!

Lynda, Isn't it crazy how much space was wasted with those?

Don't get me wrong, they are great for the proper cabinet type. I'm considering attaching one to each shelf in my upper corner cabinet simply because it is too difficult to reach or even see everything that's in it without a step ladder. The design of that cabinet would allow me to utilize almost every inch of space and have easy access to whatever I need without that pesky ladder!

That google search result looks very familiar! I built Ana White's easy reach corner base cabinet. I like the idea of the drawers but that still leaves unused space and my kitchen is kind of small so every inch counts. Would you mind posting a picture of your cabinet? Thanks!

I am wondering the same thing for the same reason. I hated the Lazy Susan and took it out, but still haven't put hinges on. I have another corner cabinet and the cabinet company used 2 European hinges to attach the door to the frame, and 2 more between the 2 small doors. Back then, people were using a piano-type hinge, but the company recommended the 2 hinges, so they would be invisible. The doors did twist some over the years, but I have seen that with the piano hinges too.

I look forward to seeing what others have to say.

I have a corner cabinet in the house i just moved into. It uses a hinge that looks like a regular door hinge but smaller in the center. And a regular cabinet hinge enter it connects to the box.

I think that what you have just might work for me. Thanks! A minor shoulder injury has reduced me to working on small projects since I posted this question. Hoping it will resolve quickly so that I can get back to finishing up my kitchen!
