If the fabric cover is removable, You can use carbon paper under the flower pattern and trace it over some paper. Use a pen, not engaged, over the pattern. You don't want ink on the fabric. You can also use a dull skewer stick, knitting needle or similar to trace. Then use the paper pattern, carbon paper, and trace the pattern onto the shade. If the fabric is not removable, use tracing paper over the pattern and copy the pattern onto the tracing paper. Then use the tracing paper, carbon paper, and trace the pattern onto the shade.
could a photo be traced ? a portrait ?
I could trace the part of the pattern that exists on the new daybed cover, but the problem is how to transfer it to the folded Roman shade that can't be removed from window to easily place it flat on floor in order to paint the design I would like to transfer. Carbon paper would be a messy prospect. I wish there was some way to spotlight the pattern on the shade so I could freehand paint the design. Any idea if that could be done?
Use a projector that will put it the size you want it. Moving it closer or far away. As it shines on shade free hand it on.
Dear ChrisDee,
What a terrific idea! Now I have to check with pals to see if anyone has an old projector available. (or is this something I can find online?? (inexpensively???)
Thanks again!!
Take a picture of the flower. Transfer it to your computer and print it out on fabric. There are tutorials all over the internet on how to run the fabric through a printer. Cut out the desired flower and iron it onto the shade with a fusible web.
Thank you so-o-o much! This is a terrific idea!!
