What material is the tub?
I'm not sure I'm a renter I gotta asked
Don't do it..let the owner do it...its better if they call the professionals in...it is a big, big, messy, smelly job, and you will need a respirator to do it..let your landlord do it, if he even would allow it..i have a blue (yes, blue!) tub, and want desperately to 'paint' it, but after all the horror stories i read and watched on youtube, i will definitely save $$ up and have a pro do it..as for right now, i am just dealing with it and trying to match it up with towels, rugs, etc...just plain ol' living with the color.
OH OH! A RENTER! I agree with Diane! Let the landlord do it. It is his responsibility. You can lose your security and any costs to bring the rental to original condition. Anything that you do betters the landlord. And anything you want to do should be in writing, email, or text that can be saved.
