Bowls are made to hold things, food, mainly. They can be used as center pieces or side attraction. They always look good with round things, like fruit, fresh or sculpted, marbles, coins, odd balls. They also hold potpourie nicely particularly if it is chunky and colorful. Collections of objects such as sea shells, pine cones, ribbons and bows, etc work well. A bowl of sand and incense also can make a room smell nice. Fresh sprigs of greenery and berries also look nice. If large enough, water and a betta or goldfish makes for an interesting display. The rounder a bowl in ball shape magnifies what is in it especially if filled with water. Also putting a mirror under a bowl or vase often creates a grander statement.

While confused the first thought that popped into my head was painting the rim of the bowl and decorating a wall with it to make a sort of bubble image.

What about the bowl is it the shape or color or both? If sculptural then leave empty and on a mantle or a tall bookcase so that it can be appreciated.
