C.a11521061 on Sep 08, 2016From mid-summer 'til first frost, we get hundreds of gnats in our house. My first partially successful remedy was to hang fly strips. But the most effective method has been to set small jars (like empty pimiento jars) or bowls of apple cider vinegar in several spots on the kitchen and bathroom counters. Works like a charm! When it evaporates enough to lower the level of vinegar a good bit, I pour out what's remaining along with the dozens of dead pests, then refill the jar with fresh vinegar. I've read that a drop of dish washing liquid should be added to the jar, but I haven't found it particularly beneficial.
