    Shelf inserts

OO good idea with the shelf inserts! We also instaled a lazy susan in one of our cabinets which really maximized our space, and that's where we keep most of our glass bowls and baking dishes

Oh love those ideas? Cori, would you have a pic of the how you have used the lazy susan to store the glass dishes?

    Thanks so much.!

Honestly, if they're unused long enough to be wrapped in paper between uses, I'd consider whether you actually need/use these dishes. If you're just keeping them because you might use them sometime, I'd go through them and get rid of the spares. It feels good to clean out "stuff" and not to have to worry about storage for things you don't really need/want.

If your problem is that you have to wrap them in paper to keep them from getting chipped up, I'd suggest a trip to the dollar store to purchase some fabric placemats or dish towels to fit in the dishes to protect them from chipping if they get bumped together.

Unfortunately i do use them but like you said; occassionally i have to take them out. I can use the fabric placements which would make it less awkward to handle these items. The issue i also have is the glassware are of varying sizes so its hard to stack them one over the other. Hillelas idea could work for me.

And thank you for your suggestion

      Cheers!

Are they pretty? Could you possibly display some in your kitchen or dining room?

Unfortunately not. They are purely functional and gifts given by thoughtful but not very creative friends!

Should you ever be at a yard sale and see a sheet music cabinet, grab it and put it in the garage for those rarely-used. They are usually about 40" high and 24" wide. Most importantly they have many shelves, each about 3" high which perfectly hold most glass bakeware. For taller stuff, remove a shelf at the bottom of the cabinet. I wouldn't use for very heavy pieces, but regular Corning pieces and old pie plates are fine cause weight is evenly distributed.

So I assume you have no cabinet space even in those cabinets rarely used over fridge or range. Get a pretty shelving unit and even though you don't think decrative it's space so do you have anything in those cabinets that is pretty that you can switch out? If not you can add interest to this unit with wording above it onto wall on wood plaque. Or find one at a craft store or online. I'm very anel so my baking things are in cabinet above lower cabinet that holds all baking products. I categorize all the food by country as well as spices in their cabinet. It's efficient. I know where things are in a snap and makes it easier to see what I need to buy. Your situation would drive me crazy. I would purge anything I don't use to make things fit. Can you make a baking section on your counter? How about a hutch do you have one that's filled with China you either don't use or only use at holiday time. Make room in there and store items out of way. I just got rid of my China that was 28 yrs old used about 15 times. Can't justify keeping so I donated it to a church for a rummage sale.
