Does anyone have any suggestions i have a arched doorway to my bathroon i want to put a sliding barn door there what do i do about the arch?
When I did mine in my kitchen, I used a Rustoleum countertop paint for the base (it was about $20 for a quart at Lowes and they can tint it in several colors). I then used metallic craft paints and a sea sponge to get the granite effect I was after (pick a piece you like and study the colors - take a picture or a sample piece with you). Practice until you get the effect you are looking for. Once you get the counter painted, I added 5 coats of a gloss polyurethane. With a little care, it should hold up well. I did mine 6 years ago and they still look great (I have had to touch up the occasional chip - if you get it right away, nobody will even know). Mine ended up costing about $35 for the entire kitchen!
