How do I remove nail polish from grout in floor tiles?
Red nail polish, soaked straight into the grout on floor, I have tried nail polish remover with no results.
make a paste with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda.
To clean dark colored grout lines on tile floors: ***** Mix baking soda and white vinegar in a cup to a paste like consistency. Use a small brush to apply the mixture to the grout lines. Allow the mixture to remain on the grout lines for a little while. Use a small scrub brush or an old toothbrush to scrub the grout lines. Clean the floor with water to remove the baking soda and vinegar solution. ***** To clean white or light colored grout lines on tile floors: ***** Sprinkle dry oxygen bleach on the grout lines. Spray the bleach with water in a spray bottle to wet it down. Allow the oxygen bleach to remain on the grout lines for a few minutes. Scrub the grout lines with a small scrub brush or old toothbrush. Clean the floor with water to remove the oxygen bleach. *****
Thank you
My Mom always used snowy powered bleach and a small nail brush. Made a paste, let it set over night and washed it off in the morning.
I use a mixture of vinegar, water and detergent works like magic!
Baking soda and vinegar definitely sound better which I'm going to try. What I do is soak cotton ball in bleach lay it on the grout that has turned black in a strip, wait a few minutes, the longer you wait the better. when you remove the cotton usually all the black stuff comes off and all you do is wash with water. Very rarely you need to scrub. Make sure you wear gloves and of course it will smell of the bleach for a few minutes longer.
Some things you can improvise, but I suggest groute floor cleaner from the hardware store
If it is light colored grout, use a gel toilet bowl cleaner with bleach. Carefully working in 4 ft sections, squeeze the cleaner in the grout lines, let sit while testing the next section, scrub if necessary with a brush, wipe up with old towels. Use extreme caution walking about as the cleaner makes it kiss your hinney slick! I use a mechanic stool asn roll around as I do it so as not to walk on it.. When complete with the gel cleaner, mop with clear water. Good as new grout! I have never done it in white grout so I can't say if this process will work or not. Alternativel, grout colorant an be bought at big box home improvement stores and the carefully applied with a foam paint brush.
