Looking for ideas for projects with magazine holders, please

remember the upright magazine holders that had "open designs" in the sides...I have 6 of them, magazines are since gone, and hate to get rid of them. but dont know what to use them for now....any ideas? they are plastic and not real sturdy for heavy things (so no wall shelves). thanks!

Magazine Holders as Shelves
My husband found a great idea. He used ours for a planter for our orchids they are light in weight and he hung them on the wall out side. He spray painted them dark green. They really look nice.
Exactly where I was thinking use as planters, any climbing plant would love them.

How about spray painting them white. (I'm very much into Shabby Chic). Then arrange on a wall in stair formation, for a home office incoming/outgoing/ mail, papers, etc. Just a thought. A picture would be helpful. Happy creating!!!
