I have a chip out of my kitchen floor tile. Any tricks to make it less noticeable. It's brown tile and the chip is white.

How big is the chip? I want to suggest using a sharpie to color it so it isn't noticeable if it's very small. If it's larger, I could press FIMO into it. Make it fit so it's level (use a sharp knife across the top). Remove the FIMO and bake it. It shouldn't shrink or change shape (if it were me, I'd do it about 3 times to make sure you don't accidentally mess up the shape before baking). Then glue it in place and paint it to match your tile. If you have a high gloss tile, put some varathane, nail polish, whatever you have handy to give it a gloss. That's what I'm thinking without seeing the actual tile.

How to Repair Holes or Cracks in Ceramic Tile ..... Patching unwanted holes in glazed tile like this can be a tricky proposition. Here's a solution that may not always be perfect, but will make a big improvement. Polyester resin or auto body filler, often used to repair car bodies. Mix up a small batch by adding some hardener and stirring it thoroughly. Using a putty knife, press the resin into the hole slightly overfilling it. Then just as the material begins to harden while it's somewhat rubbery, trim off the excess with a razor blade...... Next use 600 grit sandpaper to sand the filler smooth. Wetting the paper with water makes it work best. Now it's time to try and match the color of the tile. A porcelain touch up kit which is available at most home improvement centers comes with several different colors of paint. You can also use artists acrylic paints available from Michaels, Hobby Lobby, art supply stores, and online...... The trick here is to mix these different colors together until we come up with one that matches the tile. Apply the paint with a small brush. You can test it on a nearby tile. When you get it the way you want it, then just paint over the patch and let that dry. Give it one final sanding with that very fine sandpaper and you'll have, well, maybe not a perfect match, but something that's a heck of a lot better than what you started with.

Thank you. I thought about the sharpie but it is pea size and finding a color that matches might be harder. What is FIMO?

Fimo is a type of clay used for crafts like jewelry, sculpture etc. it gets baked and becomes hard, but flexible and waterproof

I would chip out the damaged tile and chip put anot tile from a less conspicuous area of the floor to replace the chipped one. use liquid nails and matchung grout (be sure to remove all old adhesive and grout from edges and back ) and fix or order e new tile to replace the chip one. The best solution to fix a cracked or chipped tile is always to replace it. once water seeps in you will be popping tiles left and right. This is why when you buy a home there are always a few tiles in the basement or garage that match the ones in your house. Patterns get discontinued and dye lots vary so make sure when you install new tiles you always order 2 or 3 extra and reserve enough of the same grout in a moisture proof container just in case.

Use DAP to repair, if it has a glossy finish use spit on your CLEAN finger to smooth it out, and gloss it up ..Clean spit too not eating candy etc. Water will rust over time. you can fix porcelain sinks with this patch too! Patch should last 6 mos or more in bottom of tub or sink, just re due its simple once you know how.
