There are some beautiful colors & designs in oilcloth. My Mom covered small dinette chair seats with oilcloth, & it isn't as 'sticky' as vinyl. If it feels hot or sticky to you, you could bring out some thin chair cushions to use on top of the oilcloth covered chair seats, when you're planning to eat out on the porch. Here's a tip: If you squirt several lines of hot glue,( let dry well), on the back of your outdoor cushions that you use on top of the oilcloth covered chairs, they won't slip. There's also a water repellent fabric that's supposed to work to cover outside furniture & also make outdoor cushions. Good luck!
Thanks Liz!
I covered my Mom's dinette set (chairs) in oil cloth. Think we bought it at fabric store. It was on a large roll and the clerk cut off the amount we needed. I did not buy the slick smooth kind...the oil cloth we purchased had a small texture. It worked very well without any problems of skin sticking to it when in shorts.
