We've shared detailed tips on how we saved $10,000 on our white IKEA renovation, and we layout exactly how much it cost. http://dahliasanddimes.com/2017/01/07/how-we-saved-10000-on-our-kitchen-remodel/
Constructed and installed cabinetry ourselves.
Went with inexpensive subway tile and tiled the backsplash ourselves.
Added personal, customized touches like the shiplap peninsula.
Installed a new pantry, which gave us better storage space. We reused all appliances except microwave and faucet.
Widened doorway and moved electrical outlets with help from a licensed electrician friend.
Installed custom open shelf to give the space some openness.
By doing 90% of the work ourselves with the extra help coming from friends, our beautiful, modern, white kitchen was saved us $10,000 from the average medium-sized kitchen renovations.
