Every fan has a switch. Flip it during the winter to help keep your home warm. Remember to flip it again when you're ready to use your A/C again.
The blades should rotate in a clockwise motion for the winter months.
This takes the warm air that rises to the ceiling and forces it out and around your room.
Keeping the fan on low gets the job done.
While you're up there, go ahead and dust the ceiling fan blades.

another hint: in winter keep the fan on it's lowest setting--you want to move the air gently, not create wind!
