Through the Dutch Door on Dec 12, 2013It's a type of paint that gives a chalky kind of finish. You then wax it to coat. It's easy to distress, can be painted over virtually anything without any prep work. It's very in with the whole shabby vintage look.Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Dec 13, 2013Clay based paints. Like the old limestone paint made out of sludge or milk paint, or white wash. It has a chalky finish. And some seal it with wax or poly.Helpful Reply

Jeanette S on Dec 13, 2013OK, a couple of questions...(1) if you wax it does it become smooth? I don't want a dull, rough finish. In the photos it does not appear to be rough. (2) it appears to be so magical, does it do away with wrinkles (badly needed)?Helpful Reply

Sandra Hellewell on Dec 15, 2013I love ASCP & the trick with the clear wax is to use very little ! Put one tsp. on a paper plate & soften it by mashing it with the back of a plastic spoon. Then dip your very slightly dampened wax brush into the wax & tap some off on the clean section of the plate. Then apply to a small area of your painted piece & work it in with your brush using a circular motion & then rub it in with a clean lint free cloth. Continue working in small areas overlapping the last one so there's no line! Let dry 30 min & buff to a nice sheen. It's not the bad once you get into the rhythm! Good luck!Helpful Reply
