What was making the shut before? This is not the overhead door, right? Can you post a photo?
Is something interfering with the sensor? Sometimes that will give it a signal to not close.
Sometimes the hinge on that door is self closing and maybe it needs to be adjusted. To know if it is a self closing hinge, look at it as it will be larger in diameter than the standard hinge you can see on other doors in your home.
Where is it not shutting from? The button you push, generally located next to the entrance to your house? If the sensors are not blocked, there could be a short in the wiring system somewhere. If it is not shutting by the "clicker box" you have in your car, the "clicker box" could need new batteries.
You sensors "eyes" near the floor could be dirty. Try wiping them off. It happened to me.
Just adjust your sensors, one of mine is Amber the other one is red. I threw a broom in the corner of my garage and knocked one of the out of line. Took a minute to adjust.
