Wooden Nativity Scene. Great Sunday School Project!

In 1989, when our son, Ryan was 3 1/2 years old, this was his Vacation Bible School project. Each child made one set. The older kids helped with cutting out all the felt pieces, while the younger kids did the gluing. An elderly member cut the blocks for us from scrap wood. We have displayed this nativity scene in our home, going on 24 years now. We would never, ever replace it with a store-bought fancy nativity scene. We love the pure, simple look of it, made by a child's loving hands. It is a reminder to us of the pure, childlike love we are to have for the baby who laid in that simple manger so many centuries ago!

Thanks Jeanette S. It would fun for a grandmother to make with her grandchild too. A good memory for both.

Donna, this is beautiful. What a treasure! I wish I had time to do this with Owen this year. I have all the supplies already, just not the time. How have you been? I've missed you.
