Pallet Wood Hearts Valentine

While you may think of hearts as just for Valentine’s Day, I think they can be displayed year round. Hearts make great wall art and are even better when you can make them from scraps you may have laying around the house.
Like so many of my other projects this one starts out with pallet wood but this time I’m using a piece of old roofing slate as my background.
Cut a heart shape out of paper and trim until you get a nice size for your background.
Cut a larger heart pattern for the middle heart. This heart was too large to fit onto just one piece of pallet wood.
Sand the edges of all your hearts.
Over top a sheet of vintage sheet music place your center heart pieces, trace and cut out.
Modpodge the music onto your heart.
Use construction adhesive to attach your pallet wood hearts to the slate.
If you have a smaller slate, you may want to consider one large heart in the middle.
