    Find or build a wood box frame to support the center.

    Although it is three yrs old ,how long is the warranty?I would contact the manufacturer before you attempt to fix this.

    it was only for one year...there was also one on thickness of memory foam...i think i will turn it upside down and cut the thin material away and see what can be done... maybe could metal bracket ..screw in...for wood, and add another piece of wood ... but in spring not now..already put bricks under frame and thin piece of wood under cushions...i mean there was never any jumping kids etc. it is defective..i figure stuff should last...but not so

    It depends which part of your couch broke, my parents had a similar situation and they were able to even out the problem by using textbooks to support the broken couch legs. Probably not a great long term solution but it will give you time to shop around and look for new options. Good luck!

    I would write letters to store owner and couch manufacturer president. With photos if possible. Email them too. Nag!

    Three years is inexcusable. Squeaky wheel, and all that.

    I just heard that if you don't get a favorable reply from the company contact the Better Business Bureau!

    They will help mediate a solution!

    There's also Small Claim Court! I heard they raised the dollar amount you can sue for. It's a lot of paperwork, but you'll have most of that from contacting the company. So, while making copies, make extra sets. You can get the forms online along with self help directions. Take plenty of photos now from every angle, esp. underneath and see if you can put the Date on them (Sorry I don't know how) because you'll need them. You can't carry your couch to court! Lol! Remember to Smile; there's always a solution to everything. We just need advice, other people experiences and the ability to think outside the box!

    Thank God no one got hurt while sitting on it! That's one positive! 🙂

    3 years old and falling apart is totally unacceptable because I'm sitting on a couch that is aprox. 12 years old right now! I know it wasn't a very expensive one, kind of middle of the road priced.

    Oh! If they will replace it make sure whatever you get has a frame that is made out of Dried Hardwood and if it's longer than usual be sure there are 6 legs not 4. You need a set of legs in the middle for added support and weight distribution. Many stores have a sample of what the couch looks like inside or the guts of the couch so you can actually see the construction. Take pictures of that, the Warranty tag and anything that may be helpful if you have a future problem. I usually get those fold out hard, plastic covered "couch supports" to put under the cushions as soon as i get it and rotate your cushions often. If you use a wooden board be sure to cover it (wrap it in an old sheet) because raw wood will rub up against the underside of the cushions and ruin them!

    Good Luck!

    Have you turned the couch over to see if you can add a board behind whatever board broke -- and maybe a vertical board as a "leg" behind that?

    If you cannot add such a board behind the broken board, you may need to liberally build a platform on which the sofa can sit, perhaps even removing the legs;

    Alternately, see if a twin bed frame* could support the sofa. Habitat for Humanity Restore Stores usually have used bed frames at discounted prices and you could always buy a can of black spray paint.

    Turn that sucker upside down and cut away the fabric. Get out your screw gun. I can't afford a new couch so I am always repairing this thing...just recovered it with vinyl last month. It is simple construction. You can com pair other legs to figure out how to do it.

    Please, my $3k leather sectional has plastic feet that screw in 😡And they have a good reputation. My sister used 4"pvc pipe that she notched because it slid up both sides of the center wood and held it at the bottom as well. You can cut it to the exact height easily. The fabric skirt will hide it or you can paint it.

    thanks Cparis76...good idea....
