Try boiling water, orwhite vinegar, water, salt and dish soap, or sprinkle rock salt. Just make sure there are no plants or grass around as any of these methods will kill them to.
I always rely on boiling water. Pour it from a teapot or other spouted container to help direct it into the affected area. Works like a charm!
Strong salt and water mixture.
I take an old sock, fill it with rock salt, put it in garden sprayer till the salt dissolves. Remove the sock and spray the pavers down getting in between any joints. I sprayer on the side of my house where I have river rock. Killed the weeds in about 3 days and they haven't come back for 1 1/2 years.
Salt the area, good luck!
ready from store)...add some weedkiller...fill the gaps to surface level like grouting tiles. Only work when rain is not expected for 2 hours or so. Be neat and tidy!
(I think some text got lost there....let me know!)
Swinnen Lisette. The salt water will kill everything. I do not recommend using it where anything is growing. My suggestion is to clear away the river rock in sections and lay down plastic sheeting over the membrane covering the grass roots and replacing the rock over the sheeting.. This will suffocate the grass roots and won't hurt the bushes.

Roundup
first, kill the plant. boiling hot water, vinegar....round up. choose you weapon and apply it. when the vegetation is dead scrape out the crack as best you can and use an asphalt or cement caulk meant for caulking cracks. it's a real drippy product, self levels. did great to keep the water from coming in house - there was a 3/4 inch gap between house and patio slab. the slab had settled so the side lower was at the house. there hasn't been any vegetation growing there since i applied it 2 yrs ago.

I have never have gotten very good results with any version of vinegar, dish soap, salt combos. Boiling water kills to the root, Eventually new weeds will come.
