Do you mean that you want to make a laundry basket out of an item, or you want to decorate/disguise an existing laundry basket??
in a pinch any container that holds a bundle of laundry works for a basket. trugs, boxes, bushel baskets.large garbage bag... if you want to add character....natural wicker will take dye.
Laundry baskets are waste of space. We use the big blue shopping bag from Ikea. It's hold a lot and doesn't take much room when fold.
I agree with Millia. I use the large colorful reusable shopping bags from Marshall's. They cost about a dollar, stand up nicely and last a long time. Eventually they will lose some of their "starch" and start to flop over. When that happens I retire them by stashing my donations in them and give the whole kit and caboodle to Goodwill.
I use reusable grocery bags from Aldi. They are large and have strong handles.
