PAINTING KITCHEN CABINETS WITH EGGSHELL PAINT. WHAT TO USE FOR SEALE

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Dec 18, 2013Eggshell paint is usually not used on cabinets or furniture because it is not that washable. Your shine will come from the polyurethane you use which for low shine will be satin.Helpful Reply

Carolyn Faye Blizzard Lanier on Dec 19, 2013I used Gloss on my kitchen cabinets, because it is so durable you can wash the greasy residue off and they still shine, even when you use your vent fan you are still getting grease on the cabinets when you cook and I hate to see cabinets that look dull from washing.Helpful Reply

Elizabeth St. Painters on Dec 19, 2013The eggshell paint you used should not need to be sealed. If it's a good quality, good brand of paint, it should be cleanable. Once you seal that paint with any kind of sealer, touch-up in the future will be a problem.Helpful Reply

Maureen O'Donovan on Feb 07, 2014I used a satin polyacrylic to finish off my cabinets (which I used eggshell latex paint, and a glaze). See my post for pics. The glaze really added some depth to the cabinets.Helpful Reply
