Any good paint color ideas for shutters and the front door?

We moved into our home approx. 8 years ago. From day one, I've never like the color of the shutters. Due to analysis paralysis, the color remains the same. I don't much care for red in home décor colors inside or out. I tend to lean more towards blues, yellows, greens and grays. There are 6 more shutters in the carport area, making 10 total that would need to be painted. The front door is plain white, and needs a pop of color that is not too dark, as it is already pretty dark under the carport. The vinyl siding is white, the trim at the very top is a light gray(it was like that when we bought it) and the brick has terracotta, cream and dark browns in it (I don't really care for the brick color either, but I don't want to paint them). Kind Folks, I would greatly appreciate any creative color scheme advice you may have! Thank you!
Sherwin Williams has an ap that you can download a picture of your house then plug in different colors that you like. do not be reluctant to paint the brick!

And if you're feeling patriotic, you can leave the shutters red, or give them a gray makeover which would go nicely with the blue door

How about gray for the shutters and yellow for the door?
I like the pop of green or yellow with Gray.
I would suggest you use the colors you like. make your door pop with color. Paint or stain your brick. I have seen so many houses with painted brick and it is beautiful, most have been done in a light gray. We removed our shudders and will replace them with decorative wrought iron in between windows. Or the paintable plastic ceiling medallions. center of the medallion can have you last initial of your name. These come in many sizes, lowes home depot and stores like that or Restore if you have one in your area. You could always buy a panel in tin and paint yourself a quilt and hang that between the windows. These type shutters date houses and don't look good anyway.
I know we went through 27 colors before we found the ONE. test pints come in handy for this very reason.
My pleasure...I love how gray can be put with yellow or green and it just is so pleasing. I am doing my kitchen in gray and a spring green..I am in love with the calmness of gray with that happiness of those pops of color.
People tend to be afraid of color..afraid of being wrong, but if it is good for you and you love it..go with it.

Color is very personal. Don't let other people poo-poo your ideas! Choose what YOU want! If it doesn't turn out exactly as you planned it's not the end of the world. Live with it a little while to see if it grows on you or if you really hate it . It can always be repainted. Just breathe. It will be OK. Promise
How about replacing the shutters with cedar ones made wider to look like they would cover the window if shut. Then you could wrap the carport supports with the same wood. With the color of your brick I would think a medium color of blue would look nice. Window boxes would make the window appear longer and could be made from cedar also. Plant flowers to compliment new door color and add pops of color. A curved border with more planting focusing on colors you want to bring out would add much to the front. Good luck and I am sure you will find something that works for your home.
I would LOVE to use ALL your ideas. It would look so welcoming and nice to come home to after a long day. I'll have to check out the costs of doing cedar shutters,... and it would be awesome to cover those ugly carport supports...they are metal, starting to rust, such an eye sore. I didn't want to paint them because I figured they would just start to rust again. Definitely love the idea of covering them up! As for the flower boxes...I have wanted those since I first looked at the house! THANK YOU for taking time to share all those cool ideas!
My house is going gray and white....I fell in love with Fixer Upper..I have always loved the timelessness of farm house style, but also with the clean lines of modern..I did not know if you could..or how to meld the two. Now I know thanks to Jo.

Lots of good ideas especially the Sherwin Williams site that allows you to try out different thing. However, I would paint the brick white, if you like the brick then paint just down to where it extends. Is the wall behind the car brick too? if so paint that white also. Choose a colour of your liking for the shutters (new wooden shutters would update the look) and door, you might want to also paint all the trim the same colour. As it is dark under the carport, check the rafters, have they been painted or are they just original wood colour, if the latter paint them out white as well you will be amazed at how much lighter this will be. My suggestion would be a chocolate brown for your shutters and your door. I know it is dark, but I think it would look beautiful. I don't know if it's possible to put a pretty light by your door...dusk to dawn, motion light, etc.
I love hunter green, this is my second house to put this color on the shutters and front door, also my house is a beige color, it really makes the green stand out.
Spend some time driving around just looking at color schemes on other houses. I bet you will find a few that you just love. Then go from there and try to duplicate it. It is such a personal choice. Get one you like .
I would paint the shutters a little darker gray than the trim. I would paint the door a sage green. Gray goes with the grout of the brick and green picks up the warm colors of the brick. If you decide to cover the post with cedar, make sure the cedar does not touch the concrete. Moisture will eventually rot the cedar. Although more money, the Azec type product (a composite vinyl) will not rot. There are some companies that make post covers in two pieces and the snap together to look like a post. At the bottom, you add a trim piece. You could leave the post white, or paint them gray. I agree some nice pots of flowers always brighten up a front entrance. I would change the landscaping along the brick too.
Here is a wrap product: http://www.screentight.com/prod-wrapnsnap-smooth.shtml You might have to add 2 x 4 pressure treated wood first to make the wrap product work. The pressure treated wood will not rot like the cedar.
Or cover it with cedar, and put a trim piece next to the concrete of vinyl or composite.
I know you said you're not fond of red but red shutters and red front door are very inviting and clean looking. My white vinyl house has red shutters/red front door and brick on bottom and it just makes everything clean looking. Be sure, no matter what color paint on shutters, kilz them first then paint otherwise the paint will slide right off. I was going to paint my brick and then read a lot of horror mishaps and decided to just clean it up and leave as is. Be careful also that you don't pick colors that'll make your house look like an Easter basket. Good luck
Google in Brick Stain & you'll be amazed at the beautiful stains available for brick. You won't have the maintenance of repainting your brick if you use a stain. Then, choose the rest of the paint colors to go with your new brick color.
Spray Black Rustoleum! I have a hit of black in every room, I think black highlights the rest of the room. May just be a personal thing, but that's what I'd do.
Also, a red front door. My home had a beautiful red front door when we bought it & I admire it every time I leave the house. A nice blue door would look good there as well, IMO
I couldn't make up my mind about the colors I wanted to use. I drove around in different neighborhoods looking at what other people used. Painting the brick would be first for me. It makes your home look old. Next paint the shutters a complementary color to the brick. Maybe a couple shades lighter or darker.
I agree, drive around and look at different houses. Also, I live in Florida and my shutters melted in the heat and had hornets behind them. One fell down so I took them off and liked it, if you don't like shutters, don't have them. You could do the door in a light gray with a yellow tone in it.
