Since there are so many opinions what kind of jewelry do you need to clean?

Rogers & Hollands | Ashcroft & Oak.....Do not use chlorine or rubbing alcohol on jewelry. Chlorine will create pits in karat gold and rubbing alcohol will leave an unwanted oil residue.

Thank you.
Toothpaste has worked for me too!!
Hydrogen peroxide is also good, especially if you've got "stuff" under clear stones. The bubbling will dislodge the dust from every nook and cranny. Be sure not to use abrasives(like toothpaste) on soft items like pearls and opals.
