My GE Profile bottom freezer drawer is stuck.
The drawer on the freezer will not open all the way. Any suggestions on how to get it unstuck?
If there are drawers below, pull them out so that you can remove the jam. If not, try using something thin and long to get behind and remove the jam ( a spatula usually works)
If you've had high humidity, the wood may have expanded a bit. Try using a hair dryer to reduce dampness.
okay....if it's 1 drawer and there are other drawers above and below.....remove them first. how is the dresser constructed? i have some dressers that are built like a stack of boxes, and the drawer's stay st. by a wooden guide in the bottom of the box. reach in and remove what you can, occasionally a piece of cloth will get between the sides of the inner box and outer box. think metal clothes hanger lasso.
my other dressers have sides and just a glide made of wood that's about 3 inches wide. no real bottom to support the drawer, and you can see what is in the lower drawer. the last type is notorious for catching what is in the underneath drawer, esp. when the lower drawer is overly filled. debulk the lower drawer, and see if there is any cloth caught on the glide, or sides.
Not know what kind of drawer you're talking about makes it a guessing game. If it's a dresser drawer, then take out the one above or below and work from withing to release the jam. Also, I use old candles to "wax" the undersides of all the drawers and they move freely.
If you talking about a kitchen drawer, which is usually overstuffed and you can't pull it open, i also use a spatula to free up what's causing it to jam...and then that's my sign to clean out the drawer! hope this helps! :)
