I love color-coding everything!! It makes your closet look like art! And, makes everything easy to find! For more good suggestions check out these Hometalkers' ideas: http://www.hometalk.com/b/934873/closet-organization-favorite
Since rebuilding our home after a fire, we now have a walk-in closet. My husband and I are both minimalist when it comes to furniture so only I have a dresser. All my husband's clothes are in the closet. We used a pantry kit and sliding pantry basket ad-ons for all his non-hanging clothes. It's a very simple install and would fit in any closet. You'd just have tho decide how much room each of you get (grin).
I'm not very good at the attachments thing but I'll try to show a pic of our closet.
I slowly transitioned to Joy Mangano hangers sold on HSN and also at Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond. Amazing transformation!
We moved to a place with a large walkin and I still don't have all my clothes out. I already purged but will not be able to return to work due to medical reasons so I can get rid of that clothes and my med make me cold so I need sleeves in summer as well as sweaters almost all year. I live in northern Illinois. I hang up clothing by sleeve length. Yes I commit the great sin of hanging up cardigans and sweaters. I keep jeans folded on shelf and only purchase basic colors not trendy fad colors. I kept the funeral black dress and 2 tops. And only 4 summer dresses that I wear sweaters with and I hang those up on same hanger. I'm ready to give up on skirts since I wore to work, on and I keep Capri also on shelf. It's easy to find when you have less to work with and keep like things together preferably by color.
