You can put a paper bag over the wax and use an hot iron to melt the wax onto the bag. Should get it all off.
Try Goo Be Gone. The citrus stuff in a spray bottle. Let sit a few minuets. Use paper towels to clean with. You may find this under a different name.
Clothes iron (dry setting) and paper grocery sack is the best solution.
Brown paper bag and an iron. The bag absorbs the melted watch. Super easy, fast and works great
If you can't get into the fibers enough using a bag, I've used a clean dry terrycloth rag or washcloth instead with the iron. I had a red candle drip all over a light rug and was able to get it out . It also gets it off textured walls without harming the wall or the paint. Sad that I know these things! LOL
