Use the Wagner Furno 750 to take a crazy orange fireplace mantle and transform it to headboard perfection!
This is what I found at my special place.... Seriously, what did the house this came out of look like?!
Wagner was kind enough to send my their Furno 750 to try out and share... have you ever stripped paint with a heat gun?! SOOOOO much easier, chemical free, and the cleanup is a breeze! Wear gloves and safety goggles, paint chips in the eye will hurt, and slipping when using metal tools can be kind of painful- just don't ask me how I know this...
Look!! I only took off the orange... years of paint layers were still present underneath and I was thrilled with what I found!
When I was done, I dragged it inside and set it all up. Check out my blog post for a how-to video and even more details... (hint, there was some unforeseen "hiccups" I had to fix...
Enjoyed the project?

William on Feb 08, 2017With a piece so old my concern would lead based paint. With a heat gun the fumes can be harmful. I would test the paint for lead before even starting a project. Super tip though!
