I live in central Florida and I use FOOD grade diatomaceous earth. VERY inexpensive and VERY effective for those critters with exoskeletons (ants, roaches) . I purchase at local Tractor supply. Safe for pets and gardens too!! It basically scrapes the outer layer from the insect as they walk on it. My yard doesn't even have 1 RED ANT after using.

Find the nest by following their trail. Put a cup of some gas, kerosene or charcoal lighter fluid step back and drop a match, You have to get to the nest if you want to rid them.
Use ground cinnamon in the ant track. The cinnamon burns them.
Id use boiling water. just boil kettles or pots and pour all over. It got rid of a red mite attack in my chicken hutch. and not at all harmful to animals.
I have used boiling water, vinegar, cinnamon and baby powder. Depends on your level of infestation, and whether you have children and pets. As previously noted you must find the nest to be completely rid of them. Good luck!
cayenne pepper, been there done that
Hi try some chalk or powder. Draw a line where ever they are coming in at . I use chalk cause the Ants won't walk threw it. it's something to do with there feet. Good luck . If around flowers dust with baby powder. Why use chemicals ??
I used Diatomaceous Earth and it works great
Try pouring seltzer water into the nest. Sound silly but it worked for me.
Terra Ant-Boric Acid and Karo is all that is. It really works, they take it back to the nest and it kills them all off as they eat it.
boric acid and sugar in equal amounts. sprinkle around ant hill if you can locate them, or around the perimeter of the house.
Used coffee grounds, they don't like it. Nice way to reuse what you already have good to go everyday.
packaged cornbread mix that says it is sweetened and put it where they are coming in if you can find it, or even on your counter in a small lid. They will take it to the mound, everyone will eat it and die, they can't digest the cornmeal, but will take it because it is sweetened. Little goes a long way.
