You could use fleece by the yard. It does not need hemmed as it doesn't ravel. About four thickness should be good. Just whip stitch around the edges. Don't sew? try fabric bonding.
Or use fleece and knot the edges, after cutting two inch long strips all the way around. Check out quilting sites to get more details of what I am trying to say. Do a Search for: "knotted fleece quilting" or some such without the quotation marks.
