Make a mixture of white vinegar,water and baking soda for a scrub,apply to the area and leave on long enough to lift the stains ,then wash out with soap and water.
This is sure timely! I was just looking at the outside of my older white fridge and wondering HOW I was gonna make it look "clean" again - TY SO much for this tip - I have those things on hand always :-)
i've always treated my fridge the same as my dishes and utensils - dawn dish soap in a bucket of warm water. rinse after.
If the outside of your refrigerator is textured, you can use warm water and a Mr. Clean magic eraser.

there should be something in there that will help. I keep different options when I am cleaning because I may not always have the items on hand that one post may call for.
After i would use some bleach, water and cloth to remove any nasties left. Leave it open to dry for bit, put a bowl of baking soda, close it up and let it run this way til all smell is gone.
