How to Get Wax Out of a Candle Jar Easily!
Place container in the freezer for several hours. Most of the time the wax will contract and come out with a couple smacks of the hand.
You could also try having your hair dryer on low heat and aim into candle jar and when the wax starts to melt, place paper napkin or paper towel inside on melted wax and wipe it up.
The freezer trick worked for me too!
Thank you, will try the freezer trick tonight.
Put the glass container in a small pot of scalding hot water (taken off the burner). Let stand for a few minutes .. it should loosen up pretty quickly. The freezing method works, too.
I make candles and the best way I've found is to freeze them and then use some sort of goo-b-gone for any remainder. I usually only have to freeze 10 - 15 min.
i do the freezer thing, then scrape out what i can then in do the dishwasher and they are clean i use for plants or candles again.
you can also placed in the microwave just make sure to remove the little metal vase that holds the string so it wont interfere or damage your microwave the wax will melted and be easy for disposal
The microwave might be a problem. It's not easy to tell what kinds of glass will take that treatment. It can over heat and shatter. Hot water works best, I think. Might take 2 or 3 treatments. Then wash it. NEVER EVER heat anything w a gold band, silver band, or has luster on it. Ruby glass can turn black.
WD 40 does the job. but only after the candle wick is finished in the glass.
I use very hot water....has always worked for me!
We seem to be successful using a flathead screwdriver!
