Whenever February 14th approaches, I think hearts.
But being that my style involves lots of rustic wood... hmmm... how could I incorporate wood scraps into the heart of my dreams?
Fitting together random planks, this happened!
But with a fun twist. Once the DIY heart was made, the ideas on how to use it wouldn't stop! And of course... one idea involves one of my habits...
Here is how I made this heart, and 3 all season ways to use it! Which idea is your fav?

Making a reclaimed wood heart is not hard, just a tiny bit fiddly shaping it. But it's nothing you can't handle with a good jigsaw by your side.
2. Create a heart template from paper, then trace onto wood.
3. Clamp wood, then cut each shape as drawn.
4. Stabilize back of heart with wood strips.
And you have yourself a pretty cool, rustic heart! But now let's put it to work.
IDEA 2: And THIS idea involves my coffee habit. :)
Why yes, I do love coffee. Thanks for the reminder to drink more of it, heart!
The coffee stencil is part of my line of Funky Junk's Old Sign Stencils.
