i prefer to foil my paint trays... i've tried clean garbage bags... but the foil was more conforming to the tray and not so many drips.
Paint cans spouts like this one are a must for me. They take a second to put in and then a few seconds to rinse clean when I'm done painting. It helps save a TON of time and mess pouring out of any sized can of paint!
I have a dedicated soup ladle I use to transfer paint from the can. Souper easy to clean (pun intended)

If it's 10 p.m. and you are ready to quit and don't want to clean the brushes, put them in a zip lock bag and press all of the air out or wrap them well in the clingy plastic wrap. They is last a day.
I drilled a hole in the middle of a top of an old paint can. Slip the top over my mixer, tap the top onto the can, attach my drill and I can spin the paint as fast as I want without spillage.
Cut in all corners first, then roll the walls.
