What other colors do you have in the room(carpets, other furniture, wall color etc)?
A golden color goes great with red.
I would do dropcloth curtains. You can bleach them and then tape them off to put stripes of some sort - gold, red, black - I guess it depends on the other colors in the room. :)
I agree with Terry, I love the idea of gold to accent the red
But, I wouldn't go much louder than gold because red is such a statement color, you can also do well with neutrals to highlight the red
I love floral curtains
Thank you so much. About 5 years ago I lived in flushing,Queens. Glad to hear from someone back East. Never thought about Floral. Have some old ones will try it out.
Thank you, everyone has been so nice with all the ideas. I am going to try it. I saw some drop cloths in the reuse store here. There were just piles of them. I will go pick then up tonight. Thank you again.
Thank you so much. Everyone has been so helpful. The couch is a loud red .Smile
it was a gift I brought for myself from the use but good store. The gold sounds great. once again thank you
My couch is burgundy, and I though burgundy was too dark (and overkill). I really wanted something more neutral but not white or beige. I finally decided on a light silver gray. That was 4 years ago, and I have never been disappointed. It took me a while to find just the right shade (steel gray is just too cold looking). I found a beautiful light silver with tiny threads of several colors running through it. They are not noticeable unless you look up close, but boy how pretty they are.
Floral or sheer curtains n sunlight
Wall color
I see lots of people are suggesting cream or ivory I agree, if your chair is as you describe then a neutral colour would be better as any pattern could make your room too fussy. You could alternate red and cream cushions to match on the couch this would tie it all together. Good luck
