Would you want a cushion on the bottom? You could buy a thin piece of wood for the desk part, paint it a nice color, and then see a pillow of the same size and glue it (thinking E6000 may work) to the bottom.
Cool idea, now that you mention it, I think I might try to make one too! Keep us posted!
For the board, you could always recycle a TV table. Take the legs, etc. off & put the cushion on that side of the board. E6000 will work for this as it doesn't change consistency when it's heated, the table would work as an insulator anyway I would think.
For about $26 you can go to Staple's Office Supply and purchase a "personal table" which is perfect for computer use. No muss, no fuss.
I had an old lap board, one that was rectangular with one long side curved to fit around your tummy. I had it for crafts or writing letters years ago. I used that when I first got a laptop. Eventually my husband used it as a pattern and cut out a new one of fiberboard or something that looked like wood which was about 1/4" thick. I've used it for years for my laptop.
Just buy a ready made padded one for a tenner
What is a tenner and where can we find these? I've been looking for a few years for laptop "writing pads" and can't find them. They don't make them with the styrofoam beads. They make them flat and hard for computers. I don't want to make one. Thanks.
I found some on this site: https://www.whiteboardsetc.com/LapBoards.htm and also they had them on Etsy.com and e-bay.com
Oh, lol. I never would have thought money! Thanks for the lesson today. Hope you are well!
