Best way to clean a red brick fireplace
I would start with a mild soap and water and scrub with a brush. Becareful of certain chemicals as they can ruin the brick.
I will try Wndex, but on rough Brick Texture. Cool.

We cleaned my parents with simple green it takes all the residue and grim off. You can put it in a spray bottle too.
I would not advise windex.
I have a brick fireplace in the living room. First, I vacuum it regularly. Then I just use a bit of Dawn in a bucket of water and a soft scrub brush and gently clean it and follow with a big car wash sponge of clear water to wipe it down. Does that make sense? Here is a pic . . .
