I have three staplers. Hand, electric, and pneumatic (air). For general stapling I use my hand stapler. Don't even use my electric stapler because cord gets in the way, sometimes accidentally or double staples causing a jam. For a lot of stapling or big projects my pneumatic stapler gets a workout. Stay with the top brands Arrow or Stanley whether you go hand or electric. I would say to start with a hand stapler then graduate to an electric when you feel your ready. Being homebound you really can't get the feel, weight and comfort of an electric stapler that would fit your needs...... Great reviews. Lightweight, forward action for positive stapling using body weight......

I love my electric Stanley staple gun. I haven't much hand strength and use it alll the time. It holds 2 types of staples plus brads. I got it at Walmart.
