Sherry - mine has been used for paint brushes (there is a lot of paint built up) & I've painted several walls. I have used 100% acetone & it works. I have just been too lazy & forgetful to finish the job. We used latex water base paint over many years. Give it a try. Home Depot has it I am sure or you might want to call Sally's Beauty Supply as it is essentially nail polish remover. Not sure what is coated on your but give it a try - don't buy a new one unless it leaks!!

Yes I have! Yours is clean by comparison to mine. I use mine to clean paint brushes, grease from working on my cars, and my washer drains into it. I liberally sprinkle baking soda in it. Wet a grill scrubbie, add a few squirts of Dawn dish liquid and scrub. Few minutes and rinse!
Bleach and Mr clean, (or store brand) magic erasers
i tried to clean mine but ended up finding a google search on painting it. i sanded it lightly, then applied Rustoleum primer 2 coats, then applied appliance spray 2x, letting dry thoroughly between coats. love it
If you can't get it clean, I ordered a new one from Wayfair that is just like the old one and I love it......
baking soda and vinegar. then scrub down with dawn.
ha, saw someone above did the same thing! it works!
Mine was terrible. I used Comet powder which has bleach in it with not much odor and it's scratch free and scrubbed the sink with a scrubber attached to a sponge. It didn't take me long. Oh yes, wef the sponge scubber.
I made mine look like fake stone with a countertop kit - now it doesn't show the paint marks!! ..LOL
fill sink to top with water and add 1 cup of napisan or similar bleach leave overnight then empty and rinse hope this helps
Use equal parts dawn dish soap and warm (not hot) vinegar. Put it in a spray bottle and spray. Leave 10 to 15 minutes then scrub. I use this in my shower as well.
You cannot even imagine all the crap that was stuck to mine (I did A LOT of home reno in my sink). I took a pumice stone to mine. It took a while but it looks great now. My sink is porcelain - I don't know what yours it made out of.
Mine is some sort of plastic, I have really made a mess of it at times.......but it does clean up. I use Barkeepers Friend and wet dry sandpaper. Even the dried up paint came off!
A stiff scrub brush, Comet or other household cleanser with bleach, and lots of elbow grease should take care of it. Also, scrubbing it more often will make the job less tedious the next time.
Lol, well I will maintain it once it's clean but we just bought this house and it was part of the deal!
thanks for all the tips, and i will try. i have a new sink but previous owners must have thought is was a paint and drywall compound dump
