Two good cleaners for your bathroom......Lysol foam cleaner and windex . Both excellent products.
is it a newer tub...i.e. not old pitted cast iron like mine ..ha ha..new tub kaboom...spray let it sit 20 min. rinse...old tub comet cleanser scrub...rinse completely...very completely...then add water with bleach a cup or two fill 1/2 let sit a bit drain..never mix chemicals...dangerous...
Try using Lysol with peroxide bathroom cleaner along with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
Cori: I had 4 boys. When they got to be at an age to LISTEN....;)), I had them rinse out the tub if they took a bath. Of course when they got older, they all took showers. I myself take a bath and when I'm done I let the shower rinse it out. Of course, I don't of have my rubber duckies all over with soap on them.....:)))
wax bath tub w/auto wax so it doesn't get dirty as fast
Use a soap that doesn't leave residue in the tub. Dove, glycerin bar soaps, liquid soaps (can dilute these with water to save money). Rinse and wipe the tub dry after every bath, if needed. Just switching soaps may make this step unnecessary. For cleaning shower heads, get a sandwich bag and fill halfway with white vinegar. Rubber-band the bag around the shower head. Leave on for several hours. When you remove it, the deposits will be dissolved from shower head.
Forgot to mention--buy a plastic bottle at Dollar Tree or wherever to pour liquid soap and water in to dilute.
I had a Housekeeper for a year and she told me her main cleaner was Windex. So I've tried it on my counters, faucets and it cleans and makes things shine, like a pair of shined shoes!!
you have a newer tub...kaboom...easy peasy
Is the tub porcelain or fiberglass? Edfred fiberglass cleaner is great. Is the mess mostly on the sides or the bottom? if it's the bottom it may not be draining well. Gets plugged with scum and hair. Once you get it clean, dry it and put some car wax on it, especially if it's old fiberglass. Fills in the scratches and pits. You can get a tub refinished. It's an epoxy coat done professionally.
I use a mixture of blue Dawn (1/4th cup) to cut the soap scum and white vinegar (1 cup) to disinfect. Put it in a spray bottle and shake well. I spray it on and leave it sit for a while. Then I take a no scratch dish sponge and wipe it. I found this cleaner recipe on Pinterest and it works for me.
Do you do it after every use?
I use baking soda - cuts through everything in no time at all (use it all through the house). It doesn't scratch the surface. I have my tub cleaned in about 10 minutes. Then I spray with a disinfectant. Windex and the other wonderful suggestions don't disinfect. The baking soda/Lysol cleans so good, I have to be careful and lay down a rubber mat. Then, of course, I hang my mat so it doesn't get that grime around the mat each time. I put the rubber mat into the washing machine with my towels and Voila! Don't put it into the dryer, just hang again. Easy peasy for both tub and mat.

A little bit of shampoo (any brand, I use the very cheapest) will clean the tub nicely, Just use a drop or two, scrub the tub with a nylon pouf, and rinse well. Waxing is good, but take care to wax the sides of the tub only. If you wax the bottom, where people stand, it will be too slippery!
