I cannot drill holes on wall as I rent but want to be able to either use wall panels or a headboard that stays put on this exact frame. Thanks in advance
Try to get a stain as close to the color as possible. Stain the scratches. You can also use a stain marker, Minwax makes them. Then seal the panels with a water based polyurethane to protect the finish.
How about upholstery. https://www.pinterest.com/explore/upholstered-headboards/
How about upholstering some thin wood panels that would fit in the square area and either double stick tape, tack, staple, or hot glue them into the square area. You would be able to remove them at any time to change out the fabric.
Anyone have any pictures to help me do this??
What about getting thin strips of wood make them whatever color or stain you like and glue them on.
There is stick on tiles that look like boards, they are easy to cut. Either cut them all the same or stager them (I have used them for many projects).
You can also use contact paper, wallpaper, or decoupage something there.
we've ordered some pick and seal wallpaper and going to try it!
Painting would be the easiest thing but what about upholstery tacks. Clean, paint, design then tack your design out. You could add material then tack around that too.
KatAych sure has a great idea. There are hundreds of websites that show you how to upholster anything and different ways to do it. Good luck to you!
ended up using stick and peel wallpaper that had a leather like texture. A little difficult to cut and place, but turned out great! Thanks for all the suggestions !
