Hi ...thank you for responding but the link took me to Simple Decorating Tips but says "Page Not Found". Tried it several times... is there somewhere on that page that I can go to find All Natural Glue Remover?
Goo Gone or WD40.
Did that link work? I'm not sure what's up... if it's Hometalk's issue, my computer, or my site...
Sorry, I don't know what was up with the link, but it seems to be working right now... if you run into issues again, just go to my homepage SimpleDecoratingTips.com and you'll see the page 'DIY, Tutorials & Tips' click on that to scroll down to the post: 'All Natural Glue Remover'. Thanks for your patience. :)
Try Wd40
No it won't! I've used it to remove stickers off wood, paper, plastics. marker off ceramics, marker off plastics. All items I sell on Ebay. Doesn't even stain paper or cardboard like other products will.
Awesome... great to know. Thanks a bunch!
Call the moving company and insist that they make good on this matter. After all, you paid them for a job they didn't do. Good luck - be firm!
Also, Goof Off or Oops might work as well. Read the label first.
I have a book on handy hints martha gardener just look it up on line you might be able to find a lot of things in her book. tea tree oil something thats not going to be harsh on the timber it removes lots of sticky things[chewing gum]
Try mineral oil.
Paint Thinner. It will NOT remove your finish and it dries very quickly.
I didn't know thinner could remove tape... thanks for the info! đŸ˜€
Thanks!
You can heat up the tape with a blow dryer. If that doesn't work, I use lighter fluid to remove sticky tape residue.
I agree with Linda, because lighter fluid is very good for getting off the stickiness from any tape.
Had brown moving tape goo on a lot of dishes at work. We were using lighter fluid successfully, but I accidentally discovered I could just rub most of it off with my thumb and no lighter fluid. Easier to get it off of dishes, I'm sure, but try starting at the edge of the goo and rub firmly in tiny circles. If you can get a tiny ball of it started, you can roll that around in tiny circles and pick up more of it. Also, sometimes you can stick clear packing tape firmly on the brown goo and yank it up fast, pulling the brown stuff with it. Good luck!
Good idea... thanks for the info!
Wow! Seems so irresponsible of the movers to me! Who puts tape on wood furniture?! At any rate, you should call the moving company. I would be afraid to try any chemicals. I wish you luck. Let us know.
I live alone and the movers now know where I live. They were pushy from the beginning and discussed "their tip" w/me the moment they were out of the truck. I worry if I call and they get in trouble I could wind up w/3 pissed off huge guys beating down my door. Would rather just deal w/the tape myself. But thank you, it had crossed my mind. ;) Better safe than sorry. Thank you Eileen!
