Don't be embarrassed..Your smart to ask so your happy with results..If this is your first time..Do the easy way...Minwax has stains with poly in them but you must also pretreat the wood..Minwax makes that also..If it's raw wood you will need sand paper and of course brushes. Go to Minwax .Com and look at the info and video on the product...It tells you in detail..I've used this product and it's easy and gives perfect results as long as you follow the steps..Good luck..I'm sure you will do great!
Ditto on the MinWax website
I only use Minwax! Yeah, go to the site.
Just remember when you find the stain you like try it on a sample first. All woods take samples different and it also depends on how you sand it. The rougher the sand paper the deeper the stain. the lighter the sand paper like 320 to 400 and up will cause the stain to be lighter
Thank you so much!!
Lowes has a chart right next to their stains that has different types of wood stained with all the wood stains they sell....also one that shows the different finishes of the stains. Don't panic...have fun..ENJOY!
