Coffee Table Turned Ottoman

It's amazing what a little paint and material can do! The other day I found an UGLY bench at Habitat. I could tell it was originally a coffee table that someone had turned into a bench? an ottoman? a small risen bed? I'm not sure what it was, but I could see how it could look. So for $30 it came home with me.
This was honestly one of the quickest furniture makeovers I've ever done! I probably only spent about 2 hrs on it!
First off, I painted the legs with some chalk paint, distressed them and sealed them.
Next came the upholstery. It was easy! No sew! I tucked the corners really good and stapled away! It worked and looked great!
The before and after! You can see it went from ugly and really outdated, to chic and contemporary. My kids loved it and if I had room at my house, I would have kept it. It would make the best ottoman because it's huge! But I took it to the shop....and it already sold.
So there ya have it. If you run into a nicely padded, former coffee table that's really ugly, you can turn it into something beautiful and functional!
