Make it a working weekend spending time together enjoying the fresh air, nature, and beauty. The ones that help will get first choice to use it. Have them get involved in the planning and building process. Share ideas that can be used.
Go for the long weekends, that way they still have time to get other "weekend" stuff done, you don't need to use them for the whole weekend. Have fun!
Who is is paying for it actually? Was this a family decision and choice or just the " parents" ?. If nobody else is contributing- no problem, only the ones paying or helping get to make the decisions as to when it is used and by whom..

Simon Legree, if they are not involved in the passion and letting everyone have equal rights and parts in decision making for your "Uncle Tom's Cabin" folly, you are up the proverbial creek.
Everyone was on board, we foot any bills. Like most American parents we even help them with their homes, but I agree, no sweat, no use.
