You can buy peel and stick tile- maybe that's what you saw? It has the adhesive already attached to it. GOod luck!!

Command fasters sells a pack of the refill white sticky tabs.

I have also in the past brought a foam adhesive on a roll for mounting that I used when mounting pictures to foam core backings in framing. https://www.google.com/search?client=opera&q=foam+adhesive+tape&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Just recently heard about this. It is heat set and can come in black so it looks like grout when set. On this website you get 5 (8 1/2x11" ) sheets for under $7. http://www.monstermosaics.com/No-Days-Mosaic-Adhesive-Film-p/76481.htm

" NO Days Mosaic Adhesive Film is an alternative to liquid adhesive products and mastics. It is a dry-to-the-touch thin film sheet. These can be placed down on a variety of substrates including our eco-friendly MDF shapes, wood, glass, particle board, drywall, as well as standard medium density fiber board (MDF).

Simply place your tesserae (mosaic tile) on top of the mosaic film and heat. Heat entire tesserae pattern or sections at once and allow to briefly cool to cure. That is it! Your tesserae is now securely bonded to your substrate. Easy to cut, trace on film, non-toxic, no fumes and quick curing!

If you change your mind about your design, you can reheat & reposition!"
