I have a large bathroom mirror that lost some of the backing when it was moved from the fingers holding it on the edges. Instead of paying hundreds of dollars for a new one I cut small rectangles of stained glass and glued it onto the mirror along the edges. I filled in the gaps with grout. I've used both sanded and unsanded grout and not had problems with scratching the glass. If you don't know how to cut the glass you can buy precut squares from an arts and crafts store. Glue your pieces of glass around the outside edge of your mirror to add a pop of color. You could also buy glass half glass beads and glue around the edges too. Fill in spaces with the grout.

Use E6000 glue...or almost any of the goop glues. I did glass works (working artist) for over 20 years and tried everything out in big ways, lol. Here's a truly old piece of mirror and glass over a life size mannequin. DonnaElleryArt.com

Make roses and attach around frame. Use muslin, tear into strips to make the roses. Rustic and chic!

Go to the molding department of a Lowe's or Home Depot and let your imagination have you match it to the rest of your room. So much inspiration!

I would paint the door the color of the wall being reflected in the mirror. If painting is not an option google removable wall paper.
