What do you think the best flooring is?

I must replace floor in living room & hall. Tile (that looks like wood) , vinyl, concret that looks like wood, or carpet? What is the best choice? I really appreciate your input.

white tiles and an area rug. Tiles will last longer than anything. White will go with anythingg and an area rug can be changed easily when you are tired of it or are just want to change your decor or getting new furniture.
Our son bought a laminate flooring from Costco that looks like barnwood. It is very inexpensive and durable. It's scratch resistant, too. They love it.
The quality of laminate flooring has really improved over the years since it first came out. I wanted hardwood flooring in my living room, but it was too costly. So I went with laminate. It is affordable and it looks great. It is easy to maintain too.
They now make tile that looks like wood.
