Faux marble is easy and not too difficult to create with paint. Proper prep is essential in every project, sanding, cleaning, priming, then paint. Always apply a protective coating (I use wipe on polyurethane which is oil based and is very durable - I always apply two coats letting over night drying time between coats.) There is always the concrete application to try. Ardex. Check it out at your local Home Depot or Lowe's. Best of luck.
